Terms of Service

Version 2026-09-06 · Last updated

Interim version — under counsel review.

This Terms of Service is complete and in force as written, but has not yet been reviewed by counsel. Items shown in [brackets] are placeholders awaiting confirmation. Questions: legal@pythiaresearch.org.

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and [ENTITY — legal name and form], doing business as Pythia Research (“Pythia”, “we”, “us”), and govern your use of the website at pythiaresearch.org, the application, the AI assistant, exports, reports and every related service (together, the “Service”).

1. Acceptance and eligibility

You accept these Terms by ticking the acceptance box when you create an account, or by using the Service. We record the version you accepted and when. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is not directed at children. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and “you” includes that organisation.

2. What the Service is

Pythia provides quantitative investment research: financial data, screening tools, scoring models (the Pythia score family), valuation models, and AI-generated narratives grounded in that data. The models draw on published academic research and the written frameworks of well-known investors (Graham, Buffett, Lynch, Greenblatt, Piotroski, Altman, Damodaran and others), each cited where used.

The Service is a research tool. It is not a broker, adviser, or fiduciary, and using it does not create an advisory or client relationship.

3. Not investment advice

Everything on the Service — scores, ranks, valuations, implied prices, screens, AI narratives, reports and exports — is educational and informational. None of it is investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and none of it is a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell or hold any security. Scores and model outputs are the result of formulas applied to third-party data; they are not predictions, and past performance does not indicate future results. Any price shown as “implied” or “intrinsic” is a model scenario under stated assumptions, not a forecast. AI-generated text can be wrong. You alone are responsible for your investment decisions; consult a qualified professional before acting.

4. Data, accuracy, and third-party sources

Financial data is supplied by third-party vendors and public sources under licence. Prices are delayed or end-of-day unless labelled otherwise. We source, timestamp and cite every figure, and we correct errors when we find them, but we cannot guarantee that data is accurate, complete, timely or uninterrupted. Errors and omissions in third-party data, in our processing of it, or in a model applied to it can and do occur. You must independently verify any figure before relying on it.

Vendor data is licensed to us for display within the Service. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial research. You may not redistribute, republish, resell, scrape, bulk-download, or use automated means to access it, and you may not use it to build a competing product, a dataset, or a model. Exports you download are for your own use only.

5. Accounts and security

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. Two-factor authentication is available in Settings and we recommend it. We enforce a limit on concurrent sessions per plan and may sign out older sessions. Tell us at security@pythiaresearch.org if you believe your account has been compromised. One person, one account; accounts may not be shared or transferred.

6. Plans, trials, billing, and refunds

Current plans and prices are on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through Stripe, and renew automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings or the Stripe customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then.

7-day free trial on Premium, card required, cancel anytime. A payment method is required to start a trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, the plan starts and you are charged. 14-day money-back guarantee on the first subscription payment. Refund requests go to support@pythiaresearch.org. Outside that window, payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Prices exclude taxes unless stated; applicable taxes are added at checkout.

If a payment fails, we will notify you and retry. If it is not settled, the plan lapses to the free tier and paid features stop until payment is made. We may change prices with at least 30 days notice by email; the new price applies from your next renewal after the notice period.

7. AI usage and credits

Each paid plan includes a monthly AI allowance. Beyond it you can buy prepaid Pythia Credits. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, do not expire while your account exists, and are forfeited when the account is deleted. Credits are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. You may also bring your own model-provider API key; use of that key is governed by the provider’s terms and billed by them, not by us.

AI features are subject to fair-use limits stated on the pricing page and in the product. We may throttle or pause AI features platform-wide to control cost or abuse.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of what you create on the Service (notes, theses, saved screens, custom models, chat prompts). You grant us a licence to store, process and display it to operate the Service for you, including sending prompts and the research context around them to AI providers when you use an AI feature. Shared links you create are public to anyone with the link until you revoke them.

9. Acceptable use

  • No scraping, crawling, bulk export, or automated access other than through an API we have expressly enabled for you.
  • No redistribution or resale of data, scores, reports, or exports.
  • No attempts to bypass plan limits, rate limits, or security controls.
  • No use of the Service to give investment advice to others as if it were your own analysis without disclosure.
  • No unlawful, infringing, or abusive use, and no reverse engineering of the models.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, its models, methodology, software, design and trademarks are ours or our licensors’. Third-party data remains the property of its vendors. Investor names used to describe a framework are used for attribution only and imply no endorsement. Nothing here transfers any intellectual property to you beyond the licence to use the Service.

11. Brokerage connections

If you connect a brokerage account, the connection is read-only and is made through SnapTrade; your brokerage credentials are entered on their site, never on ours. We store position data to show your portfolio and can never place trades or move money. You can disconnect at any time from Settings.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PYTHIA AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS AND DATA VENDORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, INVESTMENT LOSSES, OR LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

14. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of data, or your investment decisions.

15. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach, legal risk, or if we discontinue the Service, with notice where practicable and a pro-rata refund of any prepaid, unused period where we discontinue the Service. Sections 3, 4, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 17 survive termination.

16. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may change or discontinue features. We may revise these Terms; material changes are announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect, the version number above changes, and continued use after the effective date is acceptance. New accounts are asked to accept the current version at sign-up.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE — governing law], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. [ARBITRATION — counsel to confirm binding individual arbitration, the administrator and rules, the small-claims carve-out, a 30-day opt-out by email, and the class-action waiver]. Where arbitration does not apply, the courts of [STATE — venue] have exclusive jurisdiction.

18. General

These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the pricing page are the whole agreement. If a provision is unenforceable the rest stands. We may assign this agreement in a merger or sale; you may not assign it. Notices to you go to your account email; notices to us go to legal@pythiaresearch.org or [POSTAL ADDRESS].
